SPECIAL PROGRAMS
Stafford Jones Learning Institute is on a mission to provide high-quality counseling and educational opportunities to every learner, irrespective of the social, psychological, emotional, physical, or other challenges they face.
Our special programs are formulated with the unique and specific needs of students transitioning from a public-school environment, looking for HS diploma alternatives, and 'real-world' on-the-job training. Our programs are fully geared up to meet children, adolescents, and young adults' academic and vocational training needs through holistic, individualized, and emotionally supportive education.
GENERAL EDUCATION DIPLOMA
Based on the student's comprehensive academic, psychosocial, and behavioral assessment and specific needs, we assign secondary school students to GED (General Education Diploma). As an effective alternative track to high school completion, the GED program includes a vocational skills program and internship/apprenticeship in the community that provides on-the-job training. Students gain access to Ingenuity, the online educational platform for GED.
EDUCATIONAL TRANSITION PROGRAM
Stafford Jones Learning Institute is committed to enabling a smooth transition to academic programs from justice facilities or detention centers.
We offer high-quality interim academic programming that is aligned with the re-entry programs recommended by the Court. As part of the interim academic program, we provide a regular academic curriculum and a wellness counseling program. Students may receive a recommendation to return to the public school setting based on their progress and readiness. Students can also complete their program for graduation if social and behavioral skills are achieved as required for the public school setting. We take great care of students at each level to provide suitable online platforms that meet their academic and personal needs.
VOCATIONAL PROGRAMS
For upper school students who are not looking for a college education or prefer a hands-on approach instead of a desk-based job, our well-designed vocational programs offer an ideal solution. Designed and delivered by qualified and experienced vocational education instructors, vocational programs range from plumbing, brick masonry, and web page designing to cosmetology. We also offer community-based internships and apprenticeships managed and supervised by qualified professionals in partnership with local businesses.
Our high-quality vocational education program is precisely tailored for students who prefer the 'real world' hands-on learning. As they also take all the required standardized classes and tests, they are also eligible for the standard high school diploma.
