Dr. Marla Crawford, PhD

Dr. Crawford has over thirty years of extensive educational experiences. Her experiences encompass instructing learners in k- 12 education and post-secondary education. She is one of the founding educators of an International High School.

 

Dr. Crawford’s expertise comprises of Special Education Leadership, Policy Analyst, Programming (Academic and Non-Academic), IDEA Compliance, Due Process Hearings, Expert Witness in education at both the State and Federal levels, Restorative Justice (Mediator), Development of Graduate School Courses and Faculty Instructional Guide in Special Education. In addition to her professional experiences, Dr. Crawford has served as the Director of Mathematics and Science for the Department of Correctional Education for the state of Virginia and the Program Coordinator for Behavior Research in Special Education and Disability Policy at Virginia Commonwealth University.

 

Among her professional duties and experiences, Dr. Crawford currently serves as an adjunct professor of graduate studies in Special Education at Averett University. She is also certified in Restorative Justice and Transformation and has been certified by Office of The Executive Secretary of The Supreme Court of Virginia, Richmond, Virginia.

 

Dr. Crawford currently holds the following degrees: Masters of Science in Psychology Specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis (Present Studies), Doctorate of Philosophy in Special Education Leadership from Capella University, Masters of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University, Masters of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology Education from Virginia Union University.
